Another really enjoyable weekend in the lovely Trinity College Hall. Plenty of visitors to make the time fly – I had such interesting conversations this year! Very inspired by all the other artist’s work and bought a brilliant ceramic sculpture. Always a great event. This year I was showing new work inspired by cranes and scaffolding.

Wildcard Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Dunnottar episode
I was just about visible for a second in this camera view. It was a long way to travel and quite stressful when my Flixbus was cancelled, but otherwise a really good experience – I hadn’t expected to enjoy it so much!

2022 BS9 Art Trail at Trinity College
Another chance to exhibit in a beautiful setting with a really wide range of other Bristol artists. I enjoyed exhibiting my new theme of Bristol Bridges and chatting to visitors who have been doing interesting walks inspired by ‘From Brycgstow to Bristol in 45 bridges’. My project is ongoing and a number of the bridges I am interested in are not over Bristol’s main waterways – I should have well over 45 bridges to choose from!

The figures express some of my feelings during Lockdown 3. The reality was not all bad, but I wanted to record some of the shapeless distress I felt at times. If felt important to try to make sense of it and commemorate these extraordinary times.

Refreshing Views of Bristol
This year I set myself a project to compile a calendar of watercolour paintings of Bristol. I have enjoyed sitting at cafes and bars recording what I see over a nice cup of coffee. All these pictures were created at the locations described and I hope you find the variety and individuality of the views as pleasurable as I have!
